Staff Accountant

Preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation will be essential for this Staff Accountant role. The ideal candidate for this position can perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This Charleston, South Carolina area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. This is a position you will thrive in, if you are a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Major responsibilities - Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations - Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable - Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation - Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll - Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision - Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives - Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting - Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting - Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation - Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules - Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries - Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
